You Should Seriously Start Stocking Up on Catrice's Ultimate Stay Lipsticks

So on Monday I got an amazing treat from CATRICE Cosmetics  a little bag filled with products from the brand's fall/winter collection.

Included in the set was not one but three CATRICE Ultimate Stay lipsticks; and as a self-confessed makeup hoarder, lipsticks have now become the key to my heart (dramatic I know, but forreal), so my day was instantly made when I received these.

The shades

  1. Plum & Base  a satin, semi-matte plum lipstick, which is my favourite of the three.
  2. Behind the Red Curtain  a satin, semi-matte ruby red lip shade.
  3. Floral Coral  a beautiful, powder pink lip shade.
Their texture?

They're smooth, a little creamy with a light sheen and set to a slightly matte finish. They're the perfect medium between a cream and matte lipstick, which I know a lot of you will love.

Their colour-payoff?

Really intense; two thick coats is all you need for a saturated colour finish, and the shades available are amazing – literally the perfect variation of reds, pinks and purples.

One thing you should also know about CATRICE's Ultimate Stay lipsticks is that they smell like freshly baked vanilla cupcakes  no joke; their scent is so addictive.

Below are swatches of the shades Behind the Red Curtain (top), Plum & Base (middle) and Floral Coral (bottom).

Beauty tip

Because these lipsticks are quite creamy, it's important to make sure that your lips are smooth before applying them. Wear these lipsticks over chapped lips and any peeling skin will become even more obvious. If you don't have a lip scrub at home, exfoliate your lips by dipping a clean mascara brush into some Vaseline and then use this to scrub your lips back and forth and in circular motions. This technique will completely remove dead skin cells, leaving you with a softer and smoother pout.

CATRICE Ultimate Stay Lipsticks are R89.95 and can be found at Dis-Chem & selected Red Square branches.
